Ken Rattenbury, CFP®, B.Comm

Certified Financial Planner® professional

Having gone into the investment business after studying Finance at the University of Alberta, Ken’s career started as an Advisor. After a half dozen years in the industry, his entrepreneurial side led to his setting up his own investment firm, Rattenbury Financial Management Inc. which he ran for over 20 years. In 2011, wanting to focus more on advising clients, Ken chose to align himself and the firm with Investia Financial Services., outsourcing the management roles that require so much time.

Applying a disciplined approach to investing, combining risk management with tax efficiencies, Ken’s career in personal finance now spans some 30 years.

“Looking back, having played an active role in both pre-retirement and retirement planning with clients, many of whom I have now worked with for decades, is very rewarding”.

Depending on the season, in his spare time, Ken can be found on the water or on the snow with his family. He also enjoys the challenges of any round of golf, supporting Edmonton’s Oilers and Eskimos, or music and a glass of wine.

Brenda Chahley

Investment Funds Advisor

Having started her career with a national investment firm, Brenda brought her experience and enthusiasm to provide guidance to clients at Rattenbury Financial Management in 2000. With now over 25 years of experience as an Advisor, Brenda is well positioned and highly regarded both for her expertise as well as her commitment to serving clients.

“As much as I find market research fascinating, helping keep the client focused on their own big picture and working towards that end is what matters in this business”.

When away from work, Brenda keeps active playing and coaching soccer, recreating and travelling with family and is an avid cook and gardener.

Cindy Wong

Administrative Assistant

Cindy provides administrative support to Ken and Brenda and all clients, a role she has excelled at for the firm these past 15 years. Whether you need help tracking down a tax slip, completing an application form, or need an update on a pending transaction she can assist you.

“My primary role is to assist Ken & Brenda in ensuring that each of our clients’ financial questions and needs are addressed in the most timely manner possible”.

Cindy is also a Figure Skating Coach and, when not in the office or spending time with husband Steve, can be found cooling off in many of the arenas in the Edmonton area.
